XEL Nigeria has a number of experience engineers that provide cost effective ad-hoc support to your onshore asset teams to proactively assist with ongoing day to day operations or during periods of intense workload such as shutdown, plant start-up, modifications and decommissioning.
XEL Nigeria personnel have extensive experience in working in or with operating companies on fixed, floating production and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) installations providing the following long term support and responsibilities for;
Engineering Support
Management of major engineering contractors, engineering design, define / appraise / select engineering scope to a detailed level statement of requirements for detailed engineering, workpack preparation for minor changes, managing of software modification to Programmable Electronic System (PES) to the relevant standards and managing DCS upgrade projects.
Maintenance Support
Management of all instrument & control activities that affects production for both fixed and floating installations and defining the corrective actions required to address failures. Management of OEM contracts, which include; valve maintenance, all major control system, HVAC, telecoms and pipeline leak detection system specialised vendors. Support a range of discipline maintenance review including; Written Scheme of Examination (WSE), preventative maintenance optimisation, Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) studies and corrective maintenance optimisation utilising a risk based methodology.
Subsea Support
Management of instrument & control issues relating to various subsea control system including the preparation and implementation of diving campaigns
Operational Support
Providing advice, guidance and solutions to both offshore and onshore discipline teams to deliver effective and efficient production.
Long Term Planning
Strategic long term planning for the maintenance and operability of control systems infrastructure, including; a proactive approach to all instrument & control obsolescence, ensuring remedial activities do not impact production and ensuring the facility complies with current and new legislation.
Budget Management
Development and management of annual budgets for both OPEX and CAPEX projects.
Technical Authority
Preparing technical responses to engineering queries, equipment selection approval, management of relevant Operating Company safety management system and technical practices. Working with the HSE and Independent Verification Bodies (IVB) to manage all legislation and WSE activities including the deferral of maintenance utilising risk assessment and operator procedures.
Decommissioning
Management of all instrument & control issues relating to moving from an oil / gas production operational asset to a non producing operational asset, this includes; maintenance reduction, maintenance reduction profiles, topsides cleaning, system engineering down. Additionally strategic planning for module separation, Normally Unmanned Installation (NUI) and module lift out.
